First-year Ophthalmology student of BJ Medical College hangs self

Ahmedabad: A first-year resident doctor of the BJ Medical College was found hanging in the hostel room of the Civil Hospital campus on Wednesday afternoon in a reported case of suicide. 

A case of accidental death has been filed by the Shahibaug Police, as per a media report in the Ahmedabad Mirror.

The deceased doctor has been identified as Dr Sachin Chaudhary, who is a resident doctor of Kheralu village near Mehsana and a student of Ophthalmology. According to the PG director of BJ Medical College Dr Nita Mehta, the student had joined the classes on May 5 but had not attended any of the classes.  

The roommate of the deceased described Dr Chaudhary as an introvert person who kept to himself and did not talk to a lot of people. 

The incident took place on Wednesday when the roommate of the doctor was attending classes, during which he hung himself. However, the reasons behind the act are not yet known, reports the Ahmedabad Mirror. 

His parents live in Kheralu, where his father works as a farmer. He is survived by both of them.
