Former principal of Kolkata Medical College and Hospital succumbs to Covid-19

Kolkata: A senior doctor died of COVID-19 in the city on Tuesday, taking the total number of medical practitioners succumbing to the virus in West Bengal to 92, an official of the health department said.

Dr Jadav Chatterjee (64), head of the anatomy department in Kolkata Medical College and Hospital and former principal of the institution, died of post-Covid complications, he said.

Meanwhile, veteran Bengali actress Lily Chakraborty tested positive for coronavirus and is in home isolation. The 79-year-old actress was having fever since Saturday, the official said.
