Ghaziabad: Santosh Medical College MBBS Doctor allegedly commits suicide

Ghaziabad: In an unfortunate incident, a 23-year-old resident doctor attached to a city-based Medical College allegedly committed suicide by consuming a poisonous substance at his rented flat recently. As per the suicide note found next to the doctor's dead body, he was troubled from the last 10 years, however, what troubled him to take the drastic step is still a mystery.

The doctor is identified to be an MBBS intern at Santosh Medical College and Hospital in Ghaziabad. He was a resident of Delhi's Yamuna Vihar.

According to media accounts, the incident took place on February 13th. His body was found dead lying next to two bottles of soft drink and a vial of poisonous substance in his apartment. A suicide note was recovered from the spot wherein the doctor mentioned that he was facing a difficult time since the last 10 years, reports Patrika.

During Preliminary investigations, it was found that the doctor was first seen dead by his domestic help who had come to cook for him on the next day of the incident. In the morning, she was him lying on his bed and thought he was asleep, however, when she came for her evening shift, she saw him lying in the same position. Thus, she immediately informed the landlord and the local police. After the information, police reached the spot and confirmed the demise of the doctor. His body was later sent to postmortem, the SHO informed Patrika.

Meanwhile, the family of the doctor have denied this to be a suicide case. They have alleged that someone has murdered him.

The police investigation is underway, adds ANI.

Medical Dialogues had earlier reported that a doctor pursuing PG neurology from the SMS Medical College had allegedly attempted suicide at the hospital premises by injecting sedatives.
