Govt hospital MS booked for taking bribe from doc for positive feedback of sonography center
Pune: The medical superintendent of a sub-district hospital in Bhor Taluka was booked by the unit of the Maharashtra Anti Corruption Bureau (ACB) for allegedly demanding and accepting a bribe from a private doctor to give a positive report of his sonography center.
According to the press release issued by the ACB, the medical superintendent of the sub-district hospital was given the responsibility to inspect the sonography centers in his jurisdiction in order to look for wrong and illegal practices and was required to submit a report to the district civil surgeon accordingly.

The incident happened while the superintendent was inspecting the sonography center at the private hospital where the complainant doctor worked, when the former demanded a bribe of Rs 10,000 from the doctor to not give a negative report about the sonography center after the inspection, reports the Indian Express.
Following that, a complaint was filed by the doctor against the medical superintendent at the ACB, Pune office. The officials of the ACB attempted to catch him in the act by laying a trap. The medical superintendent was caught taking Rs 5000 as a bribe from the private doctor after negotiation on Tuesday when the ACB officials caught the accused red-handed.
After that, an FIR was filed at the Bhor police station, as per the Indian Express report. The case is being presently investigated by police inspector Shriram Shinde.
The accused has been identified as a 60-year-old doctor by the ACB, whereas the complainant is a doctor who runs a private hospital in Bhor.
The Medical Dialogues team had earlier reported a similar story where the vigilance directorate officials had raided and seized Rs 1.12 crore in cash from the residence of a gynecology specialist, considered to be one of the highest cash seizures by the officials.
