Nagpur: In a move to detect bogus doctors practicing in the state, a search operation will be intensified and it will also be considered whether any amendments can be made in the law so that such doctors can be punished more strictly as per the law, informed Medical Education Minister Girish Mahajan in the Legislative Assembly.
Assembly member Sanjay Bansode asked a question in this regard. While replying at that time, Mr Mahajan gave this information.

He said there are district-level and taluka-level committees to detect bogus doctors. Those committee members will be instructed to work efficiently by holding regular meetings.
As per the present law, the bogus doctor found in this case gets away with the benefit of the provision of the law.
"Therefore, the minister also informed that there is a strong provision in the law to give strict punishment to such bogus doctors," said Mr Mahajan.
