Haryana Health Dept raids Diagnostic centre; Doctor, tout held for sex determination
Rohtak: A major crackdown on illegal sex determination practices in Delhi led to the arrest of a radiologist and a tout at Arogya Diagnostic and Dental Centre in Dwarka on Thursday. The raid was conducted after a tip-off indicated the centre's involvement in illegal sex determination.
According to Deputy Commissioner Dhirendra Khadgata, the Health Department received a specific information regarding illegal sex determination at the centre, prompting the local authorities to take immediate action. Following the directions of the Deputy Commissioner, the Health Department conducted a raid.

Dr Rathee stated that marked currency notes of Rs 50,000 were handed over to the decoy, who then gave them to a tout.

A sum of Rs 25,500 in cash was recovered from the accused individuals. However, another suspected tout managed to evade capture and is currently on the run.
The DC stated that all-out efforts were being made to improve the sex ratio in the district. "Action under the PC and PNDT Act and raids on diagnostic centres carrying out illegal determination of foetal gender would continue," he stated.
