Hyderabad nurse files complaint alleging rape by Doctor on pretext of marriage
Hyderabad: A Hyderabad-based nurse had accused a doctor of raping and cheating her on the promise of marriage, following which she complained to the Narayanguda police station.
The nurse who is in her thirties went to the Narayanguda police where she alleged that a doctor who works with her raped her several times after promising to marry her.
According to the police, the nurse said that the accused, identified as Dr Sandeep Bharadwaj, a resident of Narayanguda, had proposed marriage to her, following which they began getting closer. However, he raped her several times after promising her marriage, reports the Telangana Today.
Eventually, the doctor began avoiding and threatening her when the nurse asked him about marriage. The police told Deccan Chronicle, "After sexually assaulting her several times when she asked him about their marriage he started avoiding her and threatened her and told her to stay away."
The case is being currently investigated by the Narayanaguda police.
Medical Dialogues team had earlier reported about an incident where a doctor had been arrested for allegedly raping a minor in 2019 at his clinic in Kothrud in the name of providing treatment. The Pune city police arrested a doctor as he had been reported to have raped a minor in 2019. The arrest took place after the girl, who is now 19 years old filed an FIR at the Kothrud police station about the case.
The FIR states that the 45-year-old accused, Dr Yogesh Lakshman Walhe runs a clinic at Paud road in the Kothrud region, and the family of the complainant knew the doctor for several years. The complainant had gone to the doctor's clinic for consultation in November 2019 when she was a minor.
