Jalandhar: Following the recent shooting of a doctor in Jalandhar’s Urban Estate area, police have arrested one of the three accused involved in the attempted abduction and attack.

The incident took place on August 19, leaving the victim with a gunshot wound to the leg after he resisted the assailants’ efforts to force him into his own car at gunpoint.

The entire incident was caught on a nearby CCTV camera, footage from which played a crucial role in identifying the suspects.

Medical Dialogues had previously reported that a city-based Nephrologist was allegedly shot in the right leg when unidentified assailants opened fire outside a market in Jalandhar's Urban Estate area. The doctor, who runs a private hospital, was targeted just as he was about to enter his car. According to the news reports, the doctor had visited a supermarket for some routine shopping and was heading back to his vehicle when he was attacked. As he walked towards his car, two unidentified assailants, whose motives remain unclear, approached him.
