Jammu Gynaecologist Dr Indu Kaul Khoda conferred Atreya Varishta Chikitsa Shikshak award
Jammu: Dr Indu Kaul Khoda, former member of the Governing Body of the All India Institute of Medical Sciences (AIIMS), Patna, and former Professor and Head of Department of Obstetrics and Gynaecology at Government Medical College (GMC), Jammu, has been conferred the “Atreya Varishta Chikitsa Shikshak Gaurav Samman”.
The award was presented by Union Minister of State (Independent Charge) for Science and Technology and Earth Sciences, Dr Jitendra Singh, in Jammu.
Dr Indu Kaul Khoda is a senior faculty member in the Department of Obstetrics and Gynaecology at Government Medical College, Jammu, where she has been serving since February 1992, with over 34 years of experience.
An alumna of the University of Kashmir, she holds MBBS and MD qualifications and has received MAMS, FIMSA and FICOG fellowships. Specialising in Obstetrics and Gynaecology, she has served as a Professor at Government Medical College, Jammu, India, since December 2008, continuing her long-standing academic and clinical contributions in that role for more than 17 years.
The Modern Kashmiri Pandits has congratulated the doctor online, stating, “This distinguished honour is a true testament to her decades of remarkable service as an eminent medical professional and teacher, including her influential 8-year tenure on the Governing Body of AIIMS Patna. Beyond her professional brilliance, Dr. Indu Kaul Khoda has been a constant pillar of strength, compassion, and grace—serving the community, supporting police families as the former First Lady of J&K Police, and nurturing family and future generations with unwavering devotion. Her journey of balancing high professional standards with deep social responsibility and selfless care is an inspiration to many.”
Jammu & Kashmir Chapter of the International Medical Sciences Academy (IMSA) has felicitated doctors with honours during a Medical Investiture Ceremony on September 26, 2026.
