KEM Hospital Forensic Medicine Head booked for Sexual Harassment

Mumbai: The Mumbai police on Sunday registered a case against the head of the forensic medicine department at the Bombay Municipal Corporation (BMC)-run KEM Hospital for allegedly molesting his colleague's wife, a fellow doctor, and their two minor daughters.
According to a UNI report, the local Bhoiwada police station registered an offence on Sunday under sections 74 (criminal force against a woman with the intent to outrage her modesty), 352 (intentional insult with the intent to provoke a breach of peace), and 351(2)(criminal intimidation) of Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita (BNS) and Section 8 of the Protection of Children from Sexual Offences (Pocso) Act.

As per the FIR, the accused allegedly abused and threatened the complainant doctor’s husband. He also allegedly molested their two daughters, aged 15 and nine years.
As per a media report in the Free Press Journal, notably, the complainant's husband had been suspended a month ago following sexual harassment allegations by six women doctors. These complaints had been submitted to the now-accused HOD and the hospital's dean.
