The incident happened on Sunday evening when the elderly man stepped out for a walk and was confronted by his daughter near a petrol pump on the Gijwene–Gadhinglaj Road. She allegedly hit him with her motorcycle, causing him to fall, abused him, and threatened to kill him. She then allegedly kicked him on the head and chest and continued the assault. When the man tried to protect himself with his hands, she allegedly bit into his right index finger near the thumb, tearing off a large portion and causing severe bleeding.

Shocked over this, the man immediately contacted his son, who rushed to the spot and took him to the sub-district hospital. He was later shifted to CPR Hospital for further treatment and is currently undergoing care.

As per the Lokmat Times news report, the elderly man has three daughters. It has been alleged that the doctor had attacked him earlier as well due to disputes over the division of ancestral land among the sisters. He had even filed complaints against her for alleged abuse and threats on November 11 and 14 over the property dispute.

Following the recent assault, the doctor's brother lodged a formal complaint against her at the Gadhinglaj Police Station. Based on the complaint, the police registered a case and arrested her. An investigation is underway.
