MD anaesthesia medico of Moradabad's Medical College found dead in hostel, probe on

Moradabad: In a tragic incident, an MD anaesthesia medico of Moradabad's Tirthankara Mahavir Medical College was found dead in his hostel room recently.

The deceased medico, a resident of Ranchi, Jharkhand, was a second-year MD Anaesthesia student at Tirthankara Mahavir Medical College.

Speaking to PTI, Superintendent of Police (City) Akhilesh Bhadauria said, “Earlier today, information was received that the body of ***, a student of the anaesthesia department of a private university located on Delhi Road, was found hanging in his hostel room.” 

Police reached the spot, took possession of the body and sent it for post-mortem. The family members of the student have been informed.

It is suspected to be a case of suicide. However, the investigation into the matter is underway, police said.

According to a recent report by Amarujala, On Thursday morning at 8:30, when his phone was not answered, his room partner and other students pushed the door open and found Oshorag's body hanging from a noose made of a bed sheet. On getting information about this, the college administration officials reached the spot and called the police. The police called forensics to the spot and searched the entire room. Some medicines were found on the spot. Apart from this, mobile and laptop were also seized.

The incident took place days after an assistant professor allegedly committed suicide on the campus of a medical college here, a post-graduate student was found hanging in his hostel room on Thursday, police said.

According to police, this is the second such death in the university this month. On Monday, the body of Assistant Professor Dr Aditi Mehrotra (30) was found lying on the floor in the guest house of the university.
