Motilal Nehru Medical College MS orthopaedics medico allegedly commits suicide, 3 doctors booked
Prayagraj: Suffering from Depression, a first-year postgraduate student of Orthopaedics at SRN Hospital affiliated with Motilal Nehru Medical College allegedly committed suicide by injecting himself with a poisonous substance inside his car in the parking area of the hospital.
Based on the complaint of the family members who suspect foul play behind his death, the police registered an FIR against three doctors of Swaroop Rani Nehru (SRN) Hospital under Section 103 (murder) of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita for their alleged involvement in the case.
The incident took place on Saturday night when doctors of SRN Hospital informed the police that the 28-year-old medico, a resident of Kotdwar in Uttarakhand who was working in the hospital had committed suicide.

According to the statement of the deceased's sister, she suspects that her brother was killed as the medico was physically and mentally abused by a senior student. In the FIR, she alleged that since her brother was a junior resident doctor, his second-year senior used to abuse him.
She alleged that she had complained about this to Associate Professor AP (Orthopaedics) several times, but he did not take any action. According to the complaint, knowing that the medico had a problem with his leg, AP made him stand for 36 to 48 hours, reports PTI.
Moreover, she also claimed that a female Junior Resident (ophthalmology) was his brother's friend for a year and suddenly stopped talking to him. The complainant said that when he spoke to her about this, she told him that she was with someone else. While he never called her after this, she would call him from time to time. Following this, she said that she suspects that the female junior doctor's friend may have killed her brother to get rid of him.
DCP Bharti said on Monday that the postmortem report of the deceased is yet to come, only after which the real cause of death will be known. No suicide note was recovered from the scene.
A detailed probe into the matter is underway, said DCP Bharti.
