Mumbai Doctor duped of Rs 85 lakh on pretext of investment, FIR against 6 persons
Thane: In yet another case of fraud, a Mumbai-based doctor has been cheated of ₹ 85,50,000 by the fraudsters on the pretext of hefty returns on investment. A case of cheating was registered against six persons, including the owner and director of a company, for luring victims.
No arrest has been made so far.

The case was registered on a complaint lodged by a Mumbai-based doctor claiming that he was cheated of ₹ 85,50,000 by the accused persons.
The accused are identified as Sunilkumar Singh, proprietor of Swastham Ayurved, chief finance advisor Anil Singh, director Shanti Singh, accountant Mahendra Pratap Singh, business development head Bhanushali, and operations head Deep Bhanushali.
They had been booked in August for a similar crime in Mumbai for cheating a Kandivli-based heart surgeon and his family to the tune of ₹ 4.32 crore, the police said.
Medical Dialogues team had earlier reported that a doctor from Mangaluru had been duped of Rs 60000 by an online fraudster who tricked the former into sharing his credit card information. As per the complaint from the doctor to the cyber police, he received a call from a person informing him to avail of reward points for his card and that it was the last day to redeem the points.
The doctor, who believed the fraudster, gave his credit card information and also shared the OTP, after which a sum of Rs 60,000 was debited from his account.
The stranger called the doctor the following day from another mobile number, promised him to pay the Rs 60,000 back, and asked the doctor to pay Rs 10,000 in advance for the same. But, the doctor refused, realizing that he was duped. Meanwhile, cyber experts alerted the general public on fraudsters who receive OTP under the pretext of getting credit card points encased and swindle money from the account.
