New Delhi: In a major development in the Red Fort car bomb blast investigation, the National Investigation Agency (NIA) has filed a supplementary chargesheet against three more accused, including an absconding doctor, taking the total number of accused in the case to 13.

According to the news reports, in its supplementary charge-sheet, the NIA has named three accused, all residents of Jammu and Kashmir.

The agency alleged that one of the accused, a paediatrician, was a founding member of the Ansar Ghazwat-ul-Hind (AGuH), an offshoot of al-Qaeda in the Indian Subcontinent. Investigators said he attended a key meeting in Srinagar in 2022 linked to the formation and coordination of the terror network. A non-bailable warrant has been issued against him.

The agency further claimed that the doctor was involved in the manufacture, testing, and storage of improvised explosive devices (IEDs) at a facility allegedly operated by key conspirators at Al-Falah University in Faridabad.

The NIA said that the second accused, an AGuH overground worker, allegedly acted as a courier for arms and cash for the terror module. “The third accused, a former LeT overground worker, was the module’s arms supplier. He had procured one AK-47, Krinkov rifle, one pistol, magazines and ammunition through a handler and delivered them for Rs 3 lakh,” the NIA said, reports TNIE.

The blast near the Red Fort last year triggered a multi-agency investigation into an alleged terror module operating across multiple states.

Medical Dialogues had previously reported that in a shocking revelation during the National Investigating Agency's (NIA) probe into the November 10 car blast near the Red Fort, which killed 15 people and injured several others, it has emerged that five arrested doctors collectively raised Rs 26 lakh to finance the bombing operation.

As per a PTI report, the NIA, which established the linkages between various accused through multi-disciplinary investigation, including detailed forensic testing, geo-location mapping of conspiracy sites and granular financial-trail analysis, is continuing its probe in the case, the statement said.
