Patient Files Police Complaint Against Doctor for Alleged Scam of INR 75,000

Pune: On Friday a 30-year-old man from Chakan who works as a technician for a private company filed a complaint against the doctor with the Wakad police.

As per a report in Times of India, the doctor has been charged by the Wakad police with scamming his patient of INR 75,000.

The complainant, a resident of Moshi, stated in his complaint that he was admitted to a private hospital in September of last year for treatment. He informed the doctor on duty that he had insurance to cover the cost of the treatment. Later the doctor told him that his insurance claim was not approved and had assisted him in getting a loan to clear the bill.

His claim of Rs. 63,000, which he had sent to the doctor's bank account, was promptly taken away by the insurance company.

The victim then requested the doctor to repay the loan, to which he agreed, but stopped after the first three EMIs. Furthermore, the doctor physically attacked and abused him when he tried to confront him. After finding that the doctor had closed his hospital the victim finally had to make a police complaint.
