Pune doctor attacked, clinic ransacked over parking dispute
Pune: In a shocking incident, a 30-year-old doctor was allegedly thrashed by three unknown men who also ransacked his clinic after he requested the removal of their vehicle parked in front of his clinic. The Pimpri Chinchwad police arrested the accused on Friday.
Based on the doctor's complaint, the trio were arrested by the police under various relevant sections of the Indian Penal Code (IPC). The doctor suffered severe injuries on his legs and left eye following the attack.
According to the police, the doctor faced an issue on June 30 because of a mini truck parked in front of his clinic. He asked the owner to remove the vehicle, which led to a heated altercation between the doctor and the men.
The incident took place in the evening when the patients who visited the doctor's clinic for appointments at Kudalwadi in Chikhali complained of facing trouble while entering the clinic as the mini-truck was blocking their way.
Following this, the doctor came outside his clinic and contacted the vehicle owner requesting him to remove his truck parked in front of the clinic. In response, the owner assured that he would arrive within 15 minutes, but ultimately arrived when the doctor called him twice.
The attack occurred after the doctor confronted the owner for behaving rudely with him. This prompted the owner to call his two other accomplices a few moments later. The vehicle owner entered his clinic, abused and attacked him with a stick while his accomplices thrashed him. Moreover, they also destroyed his clinic.
When contacted, the doctor informedTOI, “I reached my clinic around 4.30 pm on June 30 when I noticed a mini-truck parked in front of my clinic. I was not able to park my vehicle in the area. I noticed a cellphone number mentioned on the vehicle and called the truck driver. I requested him to shift his vehicle."
“I went inside my cabin and locked it, but the driver and his aides barged in. They broke the glass and also damaged my clinic’s board before fleeing from the spot," the doctor added.
After causing a stir at the clinic, the trio fled from the spot but was soon traced by the police through the phone number used by the doctor to call the mini-truck owner to move the vehicle.
The police registered an FIR after the doctor filed a complaint against the trio.
