Rs 3 cr ransom demanded from Haldwani ENT Specialist; 10-year-old youtuber arrested

Haldwani: A 10-year-old YouTuber has been arrested by the police for allegedly threatening a doctor to pay Rs 3 crores ransom in order to save his son. The incident took place on May 9.

The doctor has been identified as Dr Vaibhav Kucchal, ENT specialist who runs a private hospital in Rampur road.

According to the doctor, the accused called him on May 9 evening demanding Rs 3 crores or else his son would be kidnapped if failed to pay the money. Later, the accused again called the doctor but he did not pick up the call. Instead he went to the police station and lodged a complaint against the accused.

As per TN report, the doctor approached SSP Pankaj Bhatt on Tuesday. The police tracked the number and found the location indicated to Hapur. Following this, a police team was sent to Hapur to arrest the accused.

After initial investigation, police have found that the accused is a Youtuber from Hapur district of Uttar Pradesh and that his father, a carpenter is connected with the incident. The police have also arrested the accused father.

The police are now providing security to the doctor by keeping an eye outside the hospital gate.

While questioning the duo, the father informed the police that he wass unaware of the situation and that his son is behind the threat phone calls to the doctor. Investigation are underway as police are questioning the accused.

Medical Dialogues team had earlier reported that four men, who were involved in making death extortion calls and sending death threats to a Dhanbad based well known laparoscopic surgeon for the past one month on behalf of UP-based gangster Aman Singh was arrested by the district police in Dhanbad. The doctor identified as Samir Kumar who runs a 50-bed Suyash Clinic in Dhanbad recently left the city out of fear with his family.
