Rs 1 crore ransom demanded from Delhi doctor-Hospital Owner; Gangster arrested
New Delhi: An associate of known jailed gangsters was recently arrested by the Delhi police for allegedly attempting to extort a ransom of Rs 1 crore from a Delhi-based doctor.
The case concerns a Delhi based doctor, who is the owner of a hospital in Uttam Nagar. According to a media reports, the accused, identified as 35-year old Jitender Singh alias Jitu, along with four others tracked the doctor and the concerned hospital owner. The doctor received repeated Extortion calls via WhatsApp that was made from an unknown number from December 1 to 12. The accused kept asking for 1 crore along with threats of killing the doctor and his son. Jitu has been identified as an associate of jailed gangsters Manjeet Mahal and Pradeep Solanki.

The TOI quotes the call transcript where the accused was heard threatening the doctor, “Solanki bol rha hu..tere fayde ki baat bolni hai…ek crore chahiye nahi to tere ladke ko itni goli marwa dunga…chahe kisi ka bhi reference le aiyo.” ( trans- This is Solanki Speaking... Ill tell you something for your benefit, give me Rs one crore, or ill shoot your son down.. dont try to bring any reference...)
The doctor soon stopped responding to the WhatsApp calls. The Delhi police informed that on December 11, five men landed in the hospital, two of them were masked and had arms in the hand started creating fiasco and kept asking for the doctor.
A complaint regarding the entire matter was filed at Bindapur police station on December 12. During an investigation, the police scanned the CCTV footage from the hospital premises and collected information on the cell phone number through technical surveillance. With further investigation, the police soon nabbed the culprit.
An officer informed The Hindu, “We analysed the cell phone data and identified the person using it. Our criminal intelligence network helped us identify the accused and their possible hideouts. We raided one of the hideouts and caught Jitender.”
