SMS Medical College resident doctor found dead inside car
Jaipur: A 37-year-old resident doctor from the Department of Dermatology at Jaipur's Sawai Man Singh Medical College was found dead inside his car in the Adarsh Nagar area of the city on Monday, police said.
According to a recent PTI report, the deceased was identified as a native of Udaipurwati in Jhunjhunu district. He was a first-year resident in the dermatology department of Sawai Man Singh Medical College.
The doctor had driven to Frontier Colony on Monday morning and parked his car outside a house.
Adarsh Nagar SHO Manish Gupta said local residents grew suspicious after noticing the car parked for several hours and checked inside around 1 pm.
They found him lying unconscious in the driver’s seat, with foam and fluid visible around his mouth.
According to the TOI report, during the inspection, police recovered a quarter bottle of liquor from inside the vehicle. A forensic science laboratory (FSL) team examined the scene, and the body was shifted to the SMS Hospital mortuary for a post-mortem to be conducted by a medical board.
Upon receiving the information, a police team reached the spot. Since the vehicle was locked from inside, police broke the front window panes to gain access and shifted Sharma to a hospital in an ambulance.
Doctors at the hospital declared him dead on arrival, police said.
According to investigators, the car is suspected to have run out of fuel, causing the air conditioner to stop functioning. After remaining trapped inside the locked car in extreme heat, the doctor may have died of suffocation.
The police said the exact cause of death would be known only after the post-mortem.
