Solapur Neurologist Suicide Case: Court extends Admin officer's Custody

Solapur: In a latest development in the Dr. Shirish Valsangkar suicide case, the session court in Solapur has granted police two more days of custody of the accused administrative officer of S P Institute of Neurosciences.
The accused, who was arrested for allegedly abetting the suicide of the renowned neurologist and was serving in judicial custody, was produced in the court again as police sought further time for investigation. During the hearing, the police presented fresh allegations related to financial misconduct against her.
According to the police, they have so far questioned 42 witnesses in the case. They claim that their investigation has revealed major financial irregularities linked to SP Neuroscience Hospital, where the accused had a key role.

ABP has reported that the police told the court that the accused has three bank accounts with suspicious transactions. They alleged that she did not pay taxes of around Rs 70 lakh in these accounts. They also found that around Rs 39 lakh was available in her accounts, and the source of the amount is unknown other than her salary. The police also claimed that she gave cash payments to hospital staff and transferred the money to the bank.
