Tamil Nadu: Siddha doctor kidnapped for Rs 2 Lakh ransom; 5 arrested
Dindigul: A 65-year-old Siddha doctor who was allegedly kidnapped by five miscreants who demanded Rs 2 lakh ransom has been arrested by the police. The police rescued the victim safely.
The victim was rescued by a special team of the district police who contacted the kidnappers and informed them that they would give the ransom. One of the officers posing as the victim's family member went to a planned location on Saturday morning to hand over the money. After they secured the location with other officers, the five kidnappers were arrested and the doctor was rescued safely from the location.
The five kidnappers have been identified as 37-year-old Sasidhran of Vriddhachalam, 27-year-old Gopi of Tirupur, 40-year-old Jayaraman of Ayyampalayam, 35-year-old Manikandan of KC Patti, and 45-year-old Nagaraj of Nagari.

As per the latest media report in TOI, the victim, Yoganathan, a resident of Trichy had to often visit the districts of the state to treat his patients. Just like an ordinary day, he received a call from one of the accused named Sasidhran on May 25 asking the doctor to come to Dindigul as he needed treatment.
