Telangana PG medico commits suicide by injecting self with drug
Hyderabad: In an unfortunate incident, a 26-year-old female doctor who was pursuing her postgraduate studies at Mamatha Medical College in Khammam and was set to get married next month allegedly committed suicide by injecting drugs on Monday.
The deceased was a postgraduate medical student at Mamatha Medical College in Khammam and was in her third year of internship at Bachupalli Mamata Hospital. She was a resident of HIG Colony in BHEL township in RC Puram Mandal of Sangareddy district.
She was found unconscious in her car at Kishtareddypeta under the jurisdiction of Ameenpur police station by a passerby on Outer Ring Road (ORR) at Sulthanpur. She was then immediately taken to Mamatha Hospital Bachupally, where the doctor made every possible attempt to save her life. However, her condition worsened and she passed away during the treatment in the evening.

According to a DC news report, the doctor was heading to the hospital for work at 8 am, approaching the Patancheru mandal and Muttangi outer ring road junction. She allegedly ended her life by administering an unidentified substance through her wrist.
Reportedly, this act took place while the car was still in motion. Later on, she became unconscious, and the vehicle swerved off the road, ultimately stopping after crashing into the outer barriers close to Kishtareddypeta in Ameenpur Mandal.
Meanwhile, a passerby in another vehicle spotted the doctor inside her car and found her unconscious while her seat belt was on. After noticing something was wrong, the passerby alerted the police and rushed her to the hospital.
“At 8.20 am, we received a call through Dial-100 from a passerby who stated that a woman lost control of the steering and hit the railing on Muthangi ORR. We rushed to the scene and shifted her to a private hospital, where she died while undergoing treatment,” said Nagaraju, Ameenpur police inspector.
After a preliminary investigation into the case, the police identified why the doctor took such an extreme step when she would get married in March. The police informed the Daily that the doctor was reportedly upset after her parents got her engaged for marriage last November.
Following her death, her father filed a complaint at a police station and a case was registered. Subsequently, an investigation is underway.
Police handed over the body of the doctor to her family members after a postmortem examination. Since no vial was found in her car which could have helped the police identify the drug, they sent the syringe to Forensic Science Laboratory to determine the drug that she administered.
