Police Hunt for Driver Who Killed Doctor in Sector 69
Mohali: In a tragic incident, a doctor riding a motorcycle was killed after being hit by a speeding car near Doon School in Sector 69, Mohali, on Friday evening. The driver fled the scene immediately, prompting the police to register a case and launch a search operation.
According to the news reports, the incident occurred around 8 pm when the deceased, identified as Dr Gagandeep Singh, a resident of Sector 71, was riding his motorcycle from his home towards Sector 79. His brother was following him on a separate motorcycle. As they reached near Doon School, an allegedly speeding Alto car hit the doctor from behind, causing serious injuries.

Police officials said they are scanning footage from CCTV cameras installed in and around the area to identify the absconding driver and the vehicle involved in the accident.
After conducting the post-mortem, police handed the body over to the family. The police station in charge assured that the driver would be arrested soon. The victim's family has demanded strict action against the culprit, reports TOI.
The incident has once again raised concerns over reckless driving and hit-and-run cases in the city.
