West Bengal Health Recruitment Board to fill 2000 vacancies for various posts at medical colleges
Kolkata: As many as 2,000 candidates are expected to be recruited by the West Bengal Health Recruitment Board (WBHRB) for different posts like assistant professors, medical technologists, pharmacists etc in state-run medical colleges and other healthcare units.
According to a senior health official, the board will conduct a recruitment process for 550 assistant professors, 300 pharmacists and around 700 medical technologists out of the 2000 candidates at government medical colleges and hospitals and other facilities.

As per The Statesman sources in the health department at Swasthya Bhaban informed that approximately 1,600 candidates will be newly recruited, while the remaining 400 candidates have been delayed due to the LS polls.
As per the Daily, the recruitment process was on hold due to the implementation of the Model Code of Conduct before the Lok Sabha elections in 2024. However, the MCC has since been lifted following the announcement of the election results on June 4.
A senior official of WBHRB seeking anonymity told the Statesman, "The recruitment process for 2,000 candidates in different posts like teaching doctors in medical colleges, medical technologists and pharmacists would be kicked off soon. Advertisements in connection with the recruitment would be published in newspapers with the approval of the state finance department."
"Around 550 assistant professors out of the 2,000 candidates in different posts would be recruited considering the demand of medical teachers in teaching hospitals. Besides the assistant professors, 300 pharmacists and around 700 medical technologists would also be recruited in government medical colleges and hospitals and other healthcare facilities."
