Budgam: The Administrative Council (AC) under Lieutenant Governor Manoj Sinha in Jammu and Kashmir have approved the transfer of land at Reshipora, Budgam, where a 125-bedded hospital would be coming up.   

The transferred land is worth 71 kanal which is located in the estate Reshipora, Budgam. It is transferred in favour of the Health and Medical Education Department for constructing a 125-bedded district hospital, stated a press release by the official spokesman.

As per a media report in Greater Kashmir, the spokesman said, "The upcoming hospital, besides enhancing healthcare for the public in the area would also provide employment opportunities in different sectors to the skilled and medical practitioners." 

Lieutenant Governor Rajeev Rai Bhatnagar, Chief Secretary Arun Kumar Mehta, and Principal Secretary to LG Mandeep Kumar Bhandari attended the meeting. 

Medical Dialogues team had earlier reported about the order issued by Jammu and Kashmir government directing the private nursing homes and clinics in the region to adhere to the rules of the Clinical Establishment Act, 2010 and to get themselves registered with the concerned district authority. The order, passed by the Health and Medical Education Department of Jammu and Kashmir on 20th June, called out the private nursing homes, polyclinics and other health facilities in J&K for not registering with the concerned District Registering Authorities and for not having the required manpower or facilities as mandated by the law. It directed the private nursing homes and other health institutions to follow the minimum prescribed standard of facilities and services/human resources/records within 15 days as mandated under the act. The District Registering Authorities have been directed to inspect the private clinics and facilities under their jurisdiction and to submit the report to the Administrative department within three weeks.
