Anantnag: The family was later informed that her uterus had to be removed to control internal bleeding. She was then shifted to the ICU at GMC Anantnag, but tragically died during the night between Sunday and Monday at approximately 2:30 am.

The family alleged that performing two major surgeries within hours constituted gross medical negligence and demanded strict accountability.

Locals at the deceased’s home in Poshwara also alleged negligence. They claimed that internal bleeding is purely a result of medical negligence and demanded justice for her two children, one of whom she delivered before dying, and another, around three years old. They mentioned that such negligence at a district-level hospital is very unbecoming.

She was shifted to the ICU for intensive care, but unfortunately, she died. A preliminary enquiry committee has been constituted, and the report will be furnished within seven days. If any culprit is found, he will be brought to justice,” he added.

The government has also ordered a detailed probe. Dr. Mushtaq Ahmad will assist in the inquiry. The report, along with recommendations, is to be submitted within 14 days of the order.
