65 year old road accident victim dies after alleged delay in treatment at Medak Govt Hospital
Medical Negligence
Medak: A 65-year-old farmer died after allegedly being denied timely emergency medical attention at the Government General Hospital in Medak, with his family alleging medical negligence, the unavailability of doctors, a power outage, and inadequate emergency facilities.
The deceased, a resident of Aurangabad village in Haveli Ghanpur mandal, was rushed to the government hospital after an unidentified car hit him near Aurangabad Gate, close to the Panchamukhi Hanuman Temple, at around 10.45 pm on November 3.

According to the news reports, the farmer sustained severe head injuries and multiple bleeding injuries after a speeding car struck him from behind while he was crossing the road. Local residents arranged an ambulance to shift him to the Government General Hospital in Medak for emergency treatment.
However, his family has alleged that the hospital failed to provide timely medical attention and the basic facilities required to treat a critically injured patient. Speaking to The Hindu, the deceased's eldest son claimed that there was no electricity at the hospital when his father was brought in for emergency treatment. He added that doctors were unavailable for almost 30 minutes and that the hospital lacked adequate emergency facilities to attend to his critical condition.
Holding the hospital authorities responsible for the death, the family claimed that the alleged delay in medical intervention and lack of basic facilities contributed to the tragedy.
Following the incident, the bereaved family urged Health Minister C. Damodar Raja Narasimha, the District Collector, the District Medical and Health Officer (DMHO) and the hospital authorities to order a detailed inquiry.
The family has specifically demanded an investigation into the alleged absence of doctors during the emergency, the hospital's electricity supply and power backup arrangements, and the adequacy of its emergency medical infrastructure.
They have also sought financial compensation and welfare assistance from the government to support the family following the loss of their breadwinner.
