AIIMS Delhi seeks action taken report within 7 days on orders issued by Director

In an office memorandum issued on November 24 by Dr R Gopinath, deputy secretary, it said "I am directed to request all concerned to submit an Action Taken Report within a period of 7 days so as to review the progress. CSO and the SE may submit updates on the ATR already furnished."

New Delhi: For the purpose of monitoring the progress of the work laid down by the newly appointed Director Dr M Srinivas, All India Institute of Medical Sciences (AIIMS), New Delhi, the premier institute has asked all its departments to file an action taken report on various orders and instructions within 7 days.

Over the past months, the director has issued various orders and instructions to ensure the smooth functioning of the institute. Now, the institute has requested that all department heads provide an update on the status of their ongoing work. The report will give a clear understanding of how the institute will function in the coming years.

Various orders/ instructions pertaining to different issues have been issued by the Director, AIIMS, New Delhi for smooth functioning of this institute. Enclosed please find the gist of instructions/ orders issued till 31.10.2022 with authorities/agencies responsible indicated therein, against each issue, reads the memorandum.

After being appointed as the new director of the institute on September 23, Dr Srinivas has issued a slew of measures over the past months to upgrade and ensure the smooth functioning of the institute.

Implementation of the various orders passed by the director includes punctuality in attendance, implementation of an e-office, battery-powered buses for internal transport within the campus, streamlining of patients at the New Rajkumari Amrit Kaur (RAK) outpatient department, contractual staff to remain on seats during duty hours etc. 

Medical dialogues team had earlier also reported on various orders implemented by the institute including E-hospital, patient referral system, call centre facility for attendants of ICU patients and many more.

Recently, AIIMS has granted beneficiaries under the Employees Health Scheme (EHS) to get the "self-prescription" facility for some specific over-the-counter drugs starting next year. The move would come into effect from 1st January 2023, which would help them to skip over the tedious process of waiting in long queues and going through registration and consultation to get medicines.
