AIIMS Jammu to begin OPD services from August 1
Jammu: All India Institute of Medical Sciences (AIIMS) in Jammu and Kashmir's Samba district is all set to commence its outpatient department services from August 1, a spokesperson said on Tuesday.
Prime Minister Narendra Modi inaugurated the medical facility on February 20, saying the people of Jammu will no longer have to travel to Delhi for specialised medical treatment.

According to a PTI report, the spokesperson said, "AIIMS Jammu will officially begin its OPD services with effect from August 1. This exciting development represents a major step in our ongoing commitment to delivering high-quality healthcare to our community".
"Our OPD services will cover 20 different specialty areas and nine super-specialty areas," she said, adding, "We will also offer a range of laboratory tests and radiology imaging services based on patient needs."
A handout read that for walk-in patients needing screening, the AYUSH block will be open with registration available from Monday to Friday, between 8 am and 1 pm, and on Saturdays from 8 am to 11 am.
''Anybody have a referral or an online appointment, have to visit the main OPD block, where registration is available Monday to Saturday from 8.30 am to 11 am, ''it read and added that schedule online appointments using the ''AIIMS Jammu Swasthya App'', which is available on the google play store can also be availed, reports news agency UNI.
As per the Greater Kashmir news report, Dr Shakti Gupta said, “Detailed information on the various super-specialty and specialty departments is being publicised in the leading newspapers or the people may visit the AIIMS Jammu website. We look forward to serving people and making a positive impact on their healthcare journey”.
OPD days for super-specialty departments Endocrinology, Paediatric Surgery, CTVS, Nephrology, Neurosurgery, Neurology and Urology will be Monday, Wednesday and Friday; for Burns & Plastic surgery, OPD days will be Tuesday, Wednesday and Friday while for Surgical Gastroenterology, OPD days will be Tuesday, Thursday and Saturday.
