AMU Pharmacology Prof Syed Ziaur Rahman appointed as subject expert by ICMR
Aligarh: Prof Syed Ziaur Rahman, Department of Pharmacology, J.N. Medical College, Aligarh Muslim University (AMU) has been appointed by the Director General of the Indian Council of Medical Research (ICMR) as an external subject expert for reviewing the ICMR-PG thesis proposals in Pharmacology, received by the ICMR for financial support.
The ICMR provides financial assistance of Rs 50,000/- to 100 selected candidates of less than 45 years of age every year, pursuing postgraduate courses in medical and dental streams (MD/MS/DM/MCh/MDS).

The award of financial assistance is decided by the national-level support committee consisting of members of different disciplines from various medical colleges. The duration of the fellowship is three and half years from the date of issue of the award letter.
Prof Syed Ziaur Rahman has been associated with various prestigious organizations, such as Trustee and Secretary, Intl Association of Medical Colleges, Trustee and Treasurer, Ibn Sina Academy of Medieval Medicine and Sciences (IAMMS), National Secretary, Society of Pharmacovigilance, India, Coordinator, AMC-PvPI and MDMC-MvPI (under the aegis of IPC, M/O Health & FW, GoI) and Coordinator, Aligs' Academic Enrichment Programme (AAEP).
