Bara Maval Foundation urges Govt to take over Deenanath Mangeshkar Hospital

Pune: Following the tragic death of a pregnant woman at Deenanath Mangeshkar Hospital in Pune, who was allegedly denied admission due to non-payment of an advance, the Bara Maval Foundation has urged the Maharashtra government to take over the hospital and add it to the list of government-run hospitals.

The Bara Maval Foundation on Monday made an appeal to the Maharashtra government to take over Deenanath Mangeshkar Hospital here and add it to the list of government hospitals in the state so that the poor can avail medical treatment.

He made this appeal after a pregnant woman died in the said hospital recently, after she was denied admission over the issue of advance payment.

According to a UNI report, following this, Namdeorao Jadhav, president of the Foundation, has urged the Charity Commissioner Pune to take over of Deenanath Mangeshkar Hospital immediately and add it to the list of government-run hospitals in the state so that poor patients can get treatments here.
Medical dialogues team recently reported that BJP Rajya Sabha MP Medha Kulkarni has condemned the actions of her party's women's wing, who allegedly barged into the clinic of a gynaecologist's parents and vandalized the property. This incident is connected to the death of a pregnant woman who passed away after being denied admission to Deenanath Mangeshkar Hospital in Pune.
The hospital has been slammed following the death of Tanisha Bhise, wife of the personal secretary of BJP MLC Amit Gorkhe, who was allegedly refused admission over non-payment of a Rs 10 lakh deposit. She later died at another facility after giving birth to twin daughters.

Family members of the deceased woman have accused Dr Ghaisas of seeking the deposit ahead of admission.

According to the PTI report, Members of the BJP's women's wing allegedly stormed into the clinic run by Dr Ghaisas's mother in Kothrud on Friday and damaged property, as per police.
