According to the minister, a 400-bed, state-of-the-art Orthopaedic Hospital will be built near the Loknayak Jayaprakash Narayan Orthopaedic Hospital at a cost of Rs 215 crore, with a targeted completion timeline of just three months. The facility aims to benefit patients across Bihar suffering from bone and joint-related ailments.

He made this announcement on Wednesday in several areas of Sadar Assembly, including Rohda, Jogpur, Musehari, Jalpurwa, Gyani Mod, Malik Tola, while expressing gratitude to the voters in the meeting held. He said that today, Bihar is moving ahead rapidly on the path of development due to the blessings and cooperation of its people, according to Live Hindustan. In addition to infrastructure development, the Health Minister highlighted a major recruitment push to fill over 26,000 vacant posts in the state’s health department. By December, 663 General Medical Officers and 808 Dentist positions will be filled, while examinations for 11,389 Staff Nurse posts and 12,627 paramedical positions—including pharmacists, lab technicians, X-ray and ECG technicians, dressers, operation theatre assistants, and dental hygienists—have already been completed.
Under the National Health Mission (NHM), the state will further strengthen its workforce by filling 220 Ophthalmic Assistant posts, 1,504 AYUSH Medical Officer positions, over 5,000 Auxiliary Nurse Midwives, and several other key roles. Overall, around 32,700 appointments are expected to be completed within the next four months, according to Pandey.

The Health Minister also announced that 610 new Health and Wellness Centres will soon be inaugurated as part of the state’s ongoing effort to expand rural and urban healthcare services. He noted that more than 4 crore Ayushman Bharat cards have been issued in Bihar and that the state spends Rs 350 crore annually under the Chief Minister Health Scheme to support patients.
The minister reaffirmed that the government’s goal is to ensure high-quality healthcare “from cities to villages,” with a renewed focus on infrastructure, staffing, and accessibility across Bihar, reports the Indian Masterminds.
