Controversy erupts over Superintendent's Birthday Celebration at Nizamabad GGH
Hyderabad: The birthday celebrations of the Superintendent at Nizamabad Government General Hospital have sparked controversy after patients and their attendants accused hospital staff of neglecting their duties. In response to the allegations, the government took swift action, removing the Superintendent from her position and ordering an inquiry into the incident.
A video of the celebration, held in the Superintendent's office, showed staff members engaged in cake cutting, gift exchanges, and decorating the chamber with balloons, while patients allegedly suffered as there was no one available to attend to them.
The incident, which occurred on the night of January 9, sparked widespread criticism and led to an inquiry.
The Telangana government has shunted out the Superintendent of Nizamabad Government General Hospital after a birthday celebration in her chamber at the hospital triggered a row.
Secretary, Department of Medical and Health, Dr Christina Z. Chongthu issued the orders to remove Dr Prathima Raj as Superintendent and ordered an inquiry into the incident that allegedly occurred at the hospital on the night of January 9, news agency IANS reported.
