Hyderabad: Amid several protests and demands for strict action, the Police probe for the alleged Gandhi hospital gang rape case is almost over and as per the officials no rape took place at the hospital.

Such observations have come only after the Police team combed through almost 800 hours worth of CCTV footage. In fact, the police team has further claimed that it was the Alcohol withdrawal syndrome which caused the woman make such false complaint, reports The Hindu.

In another major revelation, the Police have come to know that one of the security staff of the hospital had allegedly confirmed having sexual intercourse with one of the two victim sisters. However, he maintained that it was consensual, adds NIE.

Meanwhile, the missing sister has also been found by the police near a medical shop in Himayat Nagar and she has been sent to a Bharosa Centre.

Apart from the police probe, a four-member team of the hospital doctors also verified and examined the data relevant to the incident and they were also of the opinion that there was no rape.

PTI reports that on August 5, a 38-year-old woman along with her sister came to the hospital for treatment of some ailment of her brother-in-law and got him admitted there. After her brother-in-law got discharged a few days ago, she filed a complaint with police on Monday stating that one person who claimed that he was an outsourced employee at the hospital had allegedly raped her, a police official said. In fact, the elder sister who was the wife of the patient allegedly went missing.

Since then, the matter is being investigated minutely as the matter took a political turn and opposition party Congress held a protest on the issue.

Telangana Home Minister Mohd Mahmood Ali on Tuesday asked police officials to expeditiously probe the allegations of rape. The Home Minister, along with state Excise Minister V Srinivas Goud, held a meeting with police and other officials and directed them to conduct a thorough and swift investigation into the alleged incident, an official release said.

As per the latest media report by The Hindu, the Police combed through 500 CCTV cameras and came to a conclusion that the "victim" allegedly misguided the Police as the rape allegations were false and a result of Alcohol withdrawal syndrome.

Recently an investigating police officer has talked to the daily regarding the matter and informed that in order to make the family believe where she was for the last couple of days when she allegedly went "missing", the woman allegedly weaved the story of having been confined and gang-raped by the security staff of the hospital.

The daily further adds the elder sister of the victim who went missing for past 4 days, was also found at Narayanaguda. As per reports, she too was a victim of alcohol withdrawal syndrome.

However, the probe further revealed that the victim allegedly had consensual sexual intercourse with one of the hospital staff on August 11 and 14 and later she approached the Chilkalguda police and lodged a complaint of being sexually assaulted for more than 4 days in a locked room of the hospital.

New Indian Express adds that the police was suspicious about the security staff who went missing after the probe was initiated. He was taken into custody. However, he admitted during interrogation about having sex with the elder sister but also stated that it was consensual.

Speaking to The Hindu regarding the matter, an investigating officer said, "After verifying the video footages, questioning the alleged suspects, staff at Gandhi, recording the statement and medical examination of the woman, we came to a conclusion that it is a false case."

Meanwhile, Police Commissioner Anjani Kumar has informed NIE that they have enough evidence to conclude what happened in the hospital in the last couple of days however, police are yet to make any official announcement as they are still trying to tie up a few loose ends.
