As per the latest media report by The Hindu, the Police combed through 500 CCTV cameras and came to a conclusion that the "victim" allegedly misguided the Police as the rape allegations were false and a result of Alcohol withdrawal syndrome.
Recently an investigating police officer has talked to the daily regarding the matter and informed that in order to make the family believe where she was for the last couple of days when she allegedly went "missing", the woman allegedly weaved the story of having been confined and gang-raped by the security staff of the hospital.
The daily further adds the elder sister of the victim who went missing for past 4 days, was also found at Narayanaguda. As per reports, she too was a victim of alcohol withdrawal syndrome.
However, the probe further revealed that the victim allegedly had consensual sexual intercourse with one of the hospital staff on August 11 and 14 and later she approached the Chilkalguda police and lodged a complaint of being sexually assaulted for more than 4 days in a locked room of the hospital.
New Indian Express adds that the police was suspicious about the security staff who went missing after the probe was initiated. He was taken into custody. However, he admitted during interrogation about having sex with the elder sister but also stated that it was consensual.
Speaking to The Hindu regarding the matter, an investigating officer said, "After verifying the video footages, questioning the alleged suspects, staff at Gandhi, recording the statement and medical examination of the woman, we came to a conclusion that it is a false case."
Meanwhile, Police Commissioner Anjani Kumar has informed NIE that they have enough evidence to conclude what happened in the hospital in the last couple of days however, police are yet to make any official announcement as they are still trying to tie up a few loose ends.
