Thane: In a disturbing incident at a private clinic in Maharashtra's Kalyan, a 25-year-old receptionist was allegedly assaulted and dragged by her hair after she reportedly asked a man to wait for his turn to see the doctor.

According to the news reports, the accused had accompanied his relatives to consult a paediatrician for a young girl, where nearly 10 other individuals were already waiting for their turn. 

The incident took place on Monday evening when the doctor was in a meeting with a medical representative inside his cabin, and had instructed the receptionist not to let anyone in.

However, seeing the doctor sitting in the cabin with the medical representative for a long time, the patient's relative, Jha, got angry and tried to forcefully enter the doctor's cabin, reports

CCTV footage shows him grabbing the woman by her hair, slamming her to the floor, and kicking her repeatedly. The assault only stopped after other people in the clinic intervened and pulled him away.

According to News 18, the police have booked the man at the Manpada police station and have launched a manhunt for him, as the accused individual fled after the incident.

"Based on the victim's complaint, we have registered an FIR under relevant sections of the Bharatiya Nyay Sanhita (BNS) for assault, using obscene language, and outraging the modesty of a woman," a police official said, reports PTI.

The entire incident was captured on the clinic’s CCTV camera and has since circulated widely, triggering widespread outrage on social media and raising concerns about the safety of healthcare staff.
