Hyderabad: Kamineni Hospitals on Wednesday announced the opening of a 150-bed super speciality hospital, Gemcare Kamineni Hospitals, in Kurnool.

Branded as Gemcare Kamineni Hospitals, the new hospital, which has been set up with an investment of Rs 150 crore, will take healthcare services in Kurnool, the hospitals said in a release here.

Apart from the new hospital, the healthcare major will also expand its cancer unit in 2023 by adding 75 beds with a Rs 75 crore investment.

Kamineni Hospitals, which has the expertise and a vision to offer world-class clinical care at affordable prices, will provide healthcare services in over 20 specialties at Gemcare Kamineni Hospitals.

The specialties offered include cardiac sciences, neuro sciences, anaesthesia, critical care, general medicine, medical and surgical gastroenterology, ENT, general & minimal access surgery, plastic / cosmetic surgery, renal transplantation, urology, joint replacement surgeries, diabetology, endocrinology, nephrology, pulmonology and rheumatology, as per a recent media report in Sakshi Post.

Kamineni Hospitals which is at the forefront of the healthcare revolution is currently operating over 3000 beds, and also runs medical and dental colleges in Telangana and Andhra Pradesh.

Medical Dialogues team had earlier reported that the state is all set to come up with eight new Employees' State Insurance (ESI) hospitals along with 18 new ESI dispensaries, based on the in-principle approval given by the Employees' State Insurance (ESI) Corporation. The information had been conveyed by Union Minister for Labour Ramesh Teli while responding to a query of Anakapalle MP B Satyavati in the Lok Sabha, who further stated that establishing ESI hospitals is an ongoing process. The eight new hospitals which are set to come up include a 400-bed hospital in Visakhapatnam; six 100-bed hospitals at Guntur, Vizianagaram, Kakinada, Penukonda, Visakhapatnam, Sri City, Nellore, and Nellore; and a 30-bed ESI hospital at Atchutapuram in Anakapalle district.
