KMCH inaugurates 750-bed hospital in Coimbatore

The new integrated facility is called KMCH Medical College General Hospital.

Coimbatore: Kovai Medical Center and Hospital (KMCH) inaugurated a 750-bed hospital which has been named 'KMCH Medical College General Hospital', located adjacent to the main campus on Avinashi Road, Coimbatore.

Kovai Medical Center and Hospital (KMCH), Coimbatore, one of the premier multi-specialty hospitals in South India had established a medical college in the name of KMCH Institute of Health Sciences and Research in 2019 with the mission to groom world-class doctors. Affiliated to Tamil Nadu Dr. MGR Medical University, the college has the capacity to accommodate 150 students per year.

Now, a 750-bed hospital has been inaugurated at the campus of the medical college. The new integrated facility is called KMCH Medical College General Hospital.

The inauguration of the 750-bed hospital took place at the KMCH Auditorium on 24th October 2021 at 10 am. Dr. Nalla G Palaniswami, Chairman and Managing Director, KMCH presided over the function and inaugurated the hospital in the presence of directors, doctors, nurses, paramedics and medical students participated in the inaugural function.

In his inaugural address, Dr. Nalla G Palaniswami said the hospital is commissioned with the noble objective of providing quality healthcare facilities at affordable cost and to transform the lives of people by offering them easy access to all types of medical services under one roof.

"KMCH had added a new dimension to healthcare delivery with the commissioning of this general hospital. With the motto of "Quality healthcare for all", this hospital marks yet another important milestone in the history of KMCH" he further added.

The general hospital is empowered with a dedicated team of healthcare specialists, nurses and paramedics. The infrastructure facilities include 750 General beds, 50 ICU beds, 30 emergency beds, 11 operation theatres and state-of-the-art medical equipment such as CT scan, MRI, Cathlab, Ultra Sound and Digital X-Ray etc.

The medical college hospital will offer 24/7 healthcare services. The hospital has a separate entrance accessible from Avanashi Road and will function as a stand-alone hospital, apart from the existing KMCH Main Centre.
