Mandya: The Mandya Institute of Medical Sciences (MIMS) is set to undergo an upgrade with plans to increase its bed capacity and implement major renovations aimed at improving healthcare delivery in the region.

The announcement was made by N. Cheluvarayaswamy, Minister in charge of Mandya district, following a high-level meeting in Bengaluru with Medical Education Minister Sharan Prakash Patil and Health Minister Dinesh Gundu Rao

Both ministers assured Mr. Cheluvarayaswamy of their full support and commitment to facilitating the growth and advancement of the medical college.

Currently, the MIMS hospital operates with 400 beds but treats over 800 patients daily, leading to overcrowding and strain on available infrastructure. To address this, Minister Cheluvarayaswamy proposed expanding the facility into an 850-bed hospital.
