Medanta acquires 10,560 sq metre land parcel in Ghaziabad to set up 350-bed hospital

Gurugram: Global Health Limited (NSE: Medanta, BSE: 543654), one of the largest private multi-specialty tertiary care providers operating in the North and East regions of India, on Tuesday announced that it has been allotted a land parcel measuring approximately 10,560 sq. metres at Siddharth Vihar Yojna, Ghaziabad, Uttar Pradesh, by the Uttar Pradesh Housing & Development Board (UPAVP). 

The land parcel has been allotted for approximately ₹165.82 crore on a freehold basis through an online auction conducted by UPAVP. The strategically located parcel has the potential to accommodate the development of a 350+ bedded hospital, subject to customary and statutory approvals and the approval of the Company’s Board of Directors.

The proposed hospital is expected to further strengthen the Company’s presence in the Delhi-NCR healthcare ecosystem and provide access to high-quality tertiary and quaternary healthcare services for the rapidly growing population of Ghaziabad and the surrounding catchment areas.

Ghaziabad represents an attractive healthcare market, supported by its large and growing population, increasing urbanisation, expanding residential and commercial development and its strong connectivity with Delhi-NCR. The city also serves as an important catchment for neighbouring areas of eastern Delhi, Meerut, Saharanpur, Hapur, Bulandshahr and western Uttar Pradesh.

The proposed location at Siddharth Vihar provides an opportunity to establish a large-scale integrated healthcare facility in a strategically located and rapidly developing part of Ghaziabad. The proposed hospital could enable the Company to address the growing demand for advanced medical care while leveraging its clinical expertise, brand, technology, medical talent and established healthcare ecosystem.
