Narayana Hrudayalaya to acquire Bengaluru orthopaedic hospital for Rs 200 crore
Bengaluru: Bengaluru-based Healthcare provider Narayana Hrudayalaya announced that it will acquire an orthopedic and trauma hospital for Rs 200 crore.
The company has inked a business transfer agreement with Shiva and Shiva Orthopaedic Hospital to acquire its orthopedic and trauma hospital as a going concern on a slump sale basis, including all assets, liabilities, employees, licenses, and contracts, Narayana Hrudayalaya (NH) said in a regulatory filing.

The Orthopedic and Trauma Hospital is located at #29/P2, Narayana Health City campus at Bommasandra Industrial Area, Hosur Road, Bangalore, Karnataka.
Part of the Sparsh Group of hospitals, which has a presence across Karnataka, the concerned unit with around 100 operational beds has an operational track record of over a decade offering orthopedic services, it added.
The unit generated operating revenues of over Rs 49 crore in the last fiscal.
"The acquisition will enable NH to foray into the trauma and orthopaedic specialty within the Narayana Health City campus housing our two flagship hospitals," the healthcare provider stated.
Narayana Health is headquartered in Bengaluru and was founded by Dr. Devi Shetty in 2000. And operates a network of hospitals across the country, with a particularly strong presence in the southern state of Karnataka and eastern India, as well as an emerging presence in northern, western, and central India. The group now features over 5,859 operational beds through a combination of greenfield projects and acquisitions.
In aggregate, centres provide advanced levels of care in over 30 specialties, including Cardiology and Cardiac Surgery, Cancer Care, Neurology and Neurosurgery, Orthopaedics, Nephrology and Urology, and Gastroenterology.
