Visakhapatnam: In a move to enhance healthcare infrastructure, the National Thermal Power Corporation (NTPC) has sanctioned Rs 2 crore under its Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) initiative for King George Hospital (KGH) in Visakhapatnam. This initiative aims to provide quality medical care to marginalized and economically disadvantaged communities.

The funding was formalized through a Memorandum of Agreement (MoA) signed between NTPC and the Visakhapatnam district collector. This collaboration is part of NTPC's ongoing commitment to improving healthcare access and research facilities within the region.

The Rs 2 crore donation will go towards procuring critical healthcare equipment, including dialysis machines, which are crucial for patients suffering from kidney-related ailments, and state-of-the-art operation theatre instruments. These additions are expected to enhance the hospital’s ability to serve a larger number of patients, particularly from economically disadvantaged backgrounds, ensuring they receive timely and effective medical treatment.
