PC PNDT Violation: 1 private health centre Shut, 2 more get notices in Bengaluru
Bengaluru: Following a series of inspections led by a team from the Bengaluru Urban District health office, notices were served to three private medical establishments after the probe revealed that they were violating the Pre-Conception and Pre-Natal Diagnostic Techniques Act 1994 (PCPNDT).
All three were issued notices while one of them was also closed down and sealed.
Speaking to TOI, Bengaluru Urban District Health Officer (DHO) Dr G A Srinivas said that a private health centre in Rajagopalnagar has been shut which was run by Ayush doctors without any Karnataka Private Medical Establishment (KPME) license.

There were no doctors present in the hospital. He further added that the team had conducted the inspection in the Rajagopalnagar hospital after receiving complaints from the public that illegal abortions and sex selective abortions were taking place there. Officials also found equipments in the hospital which were used for abortion. The closed down centre has been identified as Narayana Health Care Centre at Rajagopalanagar.
