PM-WANI Wi-Fi Inaugurated in AIIMS Raipur

Raipur: All India Institute of Medical Sciences, Raipur has inaugurated PM-WANI Wi-Fi service at Registration counters in the Hospital premise.

The service will be free of cost for the first-time user with up to 150 MB of data usage. The new facility will be beneficial for the almost 6000 patients and their relatives visiting the hospital every day.

Prof. (Dr.) Nitin M. Nagarkar, Director said that the new facility will enable visitors to the hospital to make online appointments, and download medical reports through an app. 'It has been introduced as a pilot project under Azadi ka Amrit Mahotsav, and it can be extended to the entire hospital and hostels at Tatibandh Campus and at Kabir Nagar campus respectively. The bandwidth available can be used by the 500 users at a time with an effective range of 500 feet around the central dome registration counters, he said.

Anshuman Gupta, Deputy Director (Admin.) informed that first-time users will get 150 MB data free of cost. Thereafter, they have to recharge their plans. Plans are very cheap with as low as 20 GB of data available for three days only at 10 Rs. It can be used through an app. It will soon be extended to the whole hospital campus, he informed.

The program is graced by Dean (Academics) Prof. Alok Agrawal, IT Programmer Varun Pandey and other faculty members and officers.
