AIIMS Raipur, GGU Bilaspur signs MoU to explore emerging research areas
Raipur: All India Institute of Medical Sciences (AIIMS), Raipur, and Guru Ghasidas Central University (GGU), Bilaspur, have signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) to explore emerging research areas in Biotech, Biomedical sciences, Pharmaceutical Sciences, Chemical Sciences, and other disciplines.
AIIMS has assured GGU researchers to provide its expertise and state-of-the-art lab facilities to GGU researchers. Both Institutions have agreed to identify new research areas for collaborative quality research.
GGU Vice-Chancellor Prof. Alok Kumar Chakrawal welcomed Prof. (Dr.) Nitin M. Nagarkar, Director, AIIMS-Raipur and termed partnership as a milestone for Chhattisgarh. 'GGU can help AIIMS in human resource management, IT, new technology, and managing different hospital activities. We are hopeful that the MoU will pave the way for a new arena of cooperation between the two institutions, Prof. Nagarkar said.

Prof. Chakrawal said there is a need to earn while learning in higher education. 'GGU is focusing on emerging opportunities in different disciplines. We have already identified thrust areas. The young researchers must contribute to society through their research with self-sustainability, he added.
Prof. Nagarkar and Prof. Shailendra Kumar, Registrar, GGU signed the MoU. Later, Prof. Nagarkar interacted with faculty and research scholars of the Biotech department at the University. He visited facilities, labs, and smart classes on campus and appreciated the faculty members' efforts. Dr. Renu Bhatt gives a presentation on different research facilities available at the University.
Prof. B.N. Tiwary, Dear, School of Studies of Interdisciplinary Education and Research, elaborated on the thrust areas of the University. Prof. Alok Chandra Agrawal, Dean (Academics), AIIMS-R, motivated young research scholars to come forward for Interdisciplinary research with different departments of the AIIMS.
Medical Dialogues team had earlier reported that a mobile application is being developed by the R P Centre for Ophthalmic Sciences at All India Institute of Medical Sciences (AIIMS), Delhi for eye patients to create awareness about hospital admission and to improve the treatment and care of patients awaiting corneal transplantation.
