Power outage cripples emergency services at Khagaria Hospital
Khagaria Hospital Emergency Ward in Complete Darkness
Khagaria: In a shocking incident that has sparked public outrage, patients in the emergency ward of a Sadar hospital in Khagaria were allegedly treated using mobile phone torchlight due to a complete power outage.
According to the news reports, a photo from the hospital, taken around 6 p.m. on August 11, has gone viral, highlighting the dismal condition of healthcare services in the region.
A man injured in a road accident was rushed to the hospital by his family. For nearly two hours, no doctor attended to the patient. When medical staff finally arrived around 6 p.m., they were seen using mobile phones to illuminate the area and examine X-ray reports, as the ward remained in complete darkness.
The situation is not limited to electricity issues. Reports from the hospital suggest a dire lack of basic infrastructure. Patients were seen sitting on the floor, and long queues were witnessed for even the most essential medicines.
