Yashoda Medicity signs MoU with Kazakhstan's Turkistan city for healthcare cooperation

New Delhi: Yashoda Medicity, a leading healthcare institution in Delhi-NCR, has signed a three-year Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with the Republic of Kazakhstan, Turkistan City, to establish a structured framework for cooperation in advanced medical care, patient referrals, healthcare training and knowledge exchange.

The agreement aimed to create a defined pathway for patients from Turkistan requiring specialised treatment in India, while also opening avenues for cross-border clinical consultation and healthcare professional development. 

The collaboration comes amid growing healthcare and Medical Value Travel ties between India and Central Asia, with Kazakhstan emerging as an important market for patients seeking specialised treatment in India. The 4th India-Central Asia Dialogue held in June 2025 identified healthcare and medical tourism as areas for deeper cooperation, providing a broader India-Central Asia context for the agreement.

The MoU will create a structured pathway for patients from Turkistan requiring complex interventions to access specialised tertiary and quaternary care at Yashoda Medicity, including second opinions, tele-consultations and treatment planning. Its quaternary care capabilities span cancer care, cardiac sciences, neurosciences, gastroenterology and liver sciences, robotic and minimal access surgery, nephrology and renal transplant, urology and critical care, reports PTI.

The two sides will explore coordination for visas, appointments and admissions, subject to applicable laws, to streamline the international patient journey. Yashoda Medicity will designate a Nodal Officer for seamless coordination.

The collaboration will further support healthcare capacity building through short- and long-term training, clinical observerships and fellowships for doctors, nurses and paramedical professionals from Turkistan, alongside knowledge sharing in hospital management and quality systems. The Turkistan Health Care Department will support patient referrals, coordination and nomination of healthcare professionals, while Yashoda Medicity will provide preferential facilitation to department-referred patients, subject to availability.

It also creates an opportunity to build stronger pathways for patients requiring complex and specialised treatment, while enabling healthcare professionals to learn from each other and strengthen clinical capabilities. The MoU provides a broader institutional framework to build on this experience. India’s growing Medical Value Travel ecosystem, including initiatives such as the AYUSH Visa, further supports the collaboration. Yashoda Medicity’s technology-enabled infrastructure includes robotic surgery, advanced imaging and radiation oncology technologies, alongside an AI-enabled E-ICU Command Centre for real-time patient monitoring and remote clinical oversight.

These capabilities complement the MoU’s provisions for tele-consultations and treatment planning, while the agreement also emphasises patient confidentiality, data protection and applicable medical ethics and privacy standards.
