Yogi Adityanath allocates land for 300-Bed ESIC Hospital in Greater Noida
Greater Noida- Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath has handed over the land allotment letter for a proposed 300-bed ESIC hospital to be established in Greater Noida. The land has been allotted by GNIDA in the Knowledge Park area.
Taking a significant step towards the welfare of industrial workers on the occasion of International Workers' Day, the Chief Minister handed over the letter at the state-level 'Shramveer Samman Samaroh 2026' held in Lucknow.
Currently, GB Nagar has one operational ESIC facility, the 350-bed ESIC Model Hospital and Medical College in Sector 24, which provides round-the-clock emergency, secondary, and specialist care, including cardiology, neurology, and nephrology services. This new hospital will significantly expand this capacity.
Speaking to TOI in this regard, District Magistrate Medha Rupam stated that this hospital will receive funding from the Central Government under the ESIC scheme, and it will provide significant assistance in the healthcare sector to industrial workers employed in Greater Noida and the surrounding areas.
The ESIC scheme provides social security benefits, such as medical treatment, maternity assistance, disability compensation, and cash benefits, to employees whose monthly income is up to ₹21,000 (₹25,000 for persons with disabilities). This scheme is applicable to factories and establishments employing at least 10 workers, and the contributions are shared between the employees and the employers.
Additionally, a health campaign was conducted across the entire district. Under this initiative, camps were set up at 201 locations, where over 40,000 workers received free medical advice, check-ups, medicines, and information regarding welfare schemes.
Of these, 134 camps were conducted by government facilities and 67 by private hospitals, including Yatharth Super Speciality, Max, Medanta, Fortis, Felix, and Sharda.
Additionally, the announced supplementary facilities included 25 mobile health vans, four Advanced Life Support ambulances, 10 blood analyzers, and 43 crèches. Under Ayushman Bharat, five new hospitals were empanelled, bringing the total number of such hospitals in the district to 87, including the recently opened KDSG Hospital in Greater Noida West.
