SCB Medical College gets MCI nod to start DM Pulmonary Medicine
Bhubaneswar- The Medical Council of India (MCI) has recently permitted the well known Sriram Chandra Bhanj Medical College & Hospital (SCB Medical College), Cuttack to begin DM Pulmonary Course from this academic year.
Doctorate of Medicine in Pulmonary Medicine is a super – specialty Post Doctorate course in the field of medicine. Comprehensive pulmonary medicine program include specialized treatment of specific diseases such as asthma, chronic obstructive pulmonary diseases, sleep-disordered breathing, interstitial lung diseases, cystic fibrosis, occupational lung diseases, pulmonary rehabilitation, tuberculosis, lung cancers and dedicated smoking cessation program. The course aims to develop skilled candidates in pulmonary and neural related disorders. After this course he/ she would be able to take up a career in clinical and or academic Pulmonary Medicine.
The eligible candidates need to get through NEET SS examination to get admission in super speciality courses. The exam date for this year's NEET SS 2020 has been released.

Official sources informed UNI said the course will be imparted in the Super Specialty Department of Pulmonary Medicine in the College from the current session 2020-21. This would be the first State Medical College in Eastern Zone of India and 10th medical institute in the country. Two seats in the course will be managed by the Centre of Excellence, SCB.
"With guidance of Hon'ble Chief Minister, in a significant achievement, Super Specialty Department of Pulmonary Medicine at SCB Medical College, Cuttack has received permission from Medical Council of India (MCI) to start Doctorate of Medicine (DM), Pulmonary Medicine," the release said, quotes Update Odisha.
Speaking about the development, the Chief Minister, of the state recently took to twitter and posted:

Sriram Chandra Bhanj Medical College & Hospital (S.C.B Medical College) is a pioneer medical institute in Eastern India in medical teaching, training, research and patient care.
