NBE launches Faculty Empanelment Portal for academic, assessment roles, invites applications
New Delhi- The National Board of Examinations in Medical Sciences (NBEMS) recently launched the Faculty Empanelment Portal.
NBEMS administers training programmes at the postgraduate and postdoctoral levels in multiple disciplines of modern medicine, leading to the award of Diplomate National Board (DNB), Doctorate National Board (DrNB), Fellowship National Board (FNB), and NBEMS Diploma qualifications. NBEMS accredits institutions for administering these courses and conducting exit examinations for the trainees admitted to these courses.
NBEMS is also entrusted with the responsibility of conducting several national-level entrance and screening examinations, such as NEET-PG, NEET-SS, NEET-MDS, FMGE, PDCET, and FET. Due to the scale and complexity of its academic functions, NBEMS requires a large and diverse pool of medical experts to support various roles, such as-
1 Assessing hospitals or departments for NBEMS accreditation to offer academic programs.
2 Preparing Question Papers and evaluating Answer Scripts of Final Theory Examinations for DNB, DrNB, FNB, and Diploma courses.
3 Structuring and conducting the OSCE Component of DNB/DrNB practical exams.
4 Banking, Validation and Review of Questions for various entrance/screening tests at the MBBS/BDS exit level (e.g., NEET-PG, FMGE, FDST, MRE, DRE, etc).
5 Banking, Validation and Review of Questions for various PG exit-level entrance exams such as NEET-SS, Fellowship Entrance Tests, PDCET, etc.
6 Preparing Question Papers and evaluating Answer Scripts of Formative Assessment Test (FAT) for NBEMS trainees.
7 Organising and evaluating practical examinations across specialities.
8 Reviewing Theses submitted by NBEMS candidates.
9 Delivering webinar lectures and academic content at the PG level.
10 Acting as independent appraisers during various examinations to ensure fairness and quality.
Therefore, through the notice, it has been informed that the NBEMS has launched a Faculty Empanelment Portal, a digital platform to streamline the process of identifying and empanelling qualified medical faculty for the NBEMS academic and assessment-related roles as detailed above. This portal serves as a central database of experts willing to contribute to NBEMS activities mentioned above.
The link to access the Faculty Empanelment Portal is available at the NBEMS official website under the tab “Organisation>> NBEMS Faculty”. Through this portal, faculty members will be able to submit their details under the following categories-
1 Basic Details: Name, contact information, etc.
2 Qualification Details: Educational background, including speciality, institutions, and year of qualification.
3 Employment Details: Current and previous institutional affiliations, designations, and experience.
4 Interest in NBEMS Activities: Faculty can indicate the activities of NBEMS they are interested in.
5 Bank Details: For seamless processing of reimbursements for assigned NBEMS tasks.
Upon successful submission, each faculty member will be assigned a unique Faculty ID, which will be used in all future interactions and assignments with NBEMS, ensuring continuity and traceability. With time, through this portal, the empanelled faculty shall be able to trace the details of the assignments entrusted to them with a unique NBEMS Assignment Number.
While there is no deadline to get empanelled with NBEMS, all eligible and experienced medical faculty are strongly encouraged to register at the earliest. However, any queries related to faculty empanelment can only be submitted through the “contact us” tab under this portal.
NBEMS is an autonomous organisation under the Ministry of Health and Family Welfare, Government of India. Its primary purpose is to standardise and promote postgraduate and postdoctoral medical education in India by conducting high-quality examinations that ensure uniformity in assessment across institutions.
